Loss

So this blog begins with the loss of a family member to Cancer which she had fought for over 8 years with such bravery and positivity, loife seems so unkind at times - Her daughter unable to accept the defeat to this disease, had to be pulled from her side so her body could be taken by the funeral directors, this leaves me with such vivid images it makes me cry....I myself couldnt see her in her final hours/days I have done this before and its a mental image that has stayed, I couldnt do it again. I battled with this decision as she had asked to see me, so instead I wrote her a short note, just saying she was an inspiration and that I loved her...which I know she read, its a comfort to me. I saw her Daughter on Friday, and the pain was etched on her face and in her eyes and there was nothing I could do or say, it left my heart heavy.

I have had 5 people in the family/or friends die since early Decemeber and it makes me think how fragile life is and how fast it at times all moves and how wrapped up in my own life I get. Having had my Dad near to death last year it deeply affected me, I felt quite crushed at the thought of losing him, Dad's are always there right?.... Sorry its isnt a better read just wanted to type a few words.

Rest In Peace Joan...xx

FOG!

Blimey the fog has dropped in from nowhere!

I love Winter, nothing nicer than shutting your front door coming into a warm house, cooking a nice bit of grub umm something with MASH and snuggling down infront of the TV/interwebz for the evening.

Took this snap of Lennon while over the local park today, not particularly great but its all ACTION

Park was empty, there was a lovely silence over there floor was crunchy under foot only sounds where Lennon's thundering gallop as he rentlessly chased and fetched his ball, and the birds on the half frozen lake ahhhh lovely.

Oh Yeh....

For us Keane fans, how PERFECT SYMMETRY is this scarf? spotted while in H&M yesterday! It cried out to me MERCH! MERCH! MERCH! I didnt buy one as it would be just too sad...

Internet Dealings!

Man, i've spent 3hrs on the phone (at my cost) to companies that give me a piss poor service while I pay for the pleasure!

Firstly my ISP AOL, since 2 weeks before Christmas it is has been so slow! like dial up speed, I mean a girl cant function with speeds like that! I put it down to people maybe being on Christmas break etc etc...but no this was a joke so I called the dreaded call center conveniently situated in India, where they are like robots reading from a card taking me through the same steps 20 times all of which make NO difference, now im not computer illiterate Im actually very savvy so im explaining that infact i've actually done all this already to no avail, but oh no in order for my issue to be escalated I have to do them again (well I dont I just "say" im doing them) SIDE NOTE: they use the word escalate to make me feel important! So im rasied to level 2 technical support (woooo fucking hoooo) I decide to get tough on the phone and be a bit short with this guy, we go through several pointless processes nothing changes or improves, he then tells me there is nothing he can do so I ask, where does this leave me? paying for an internet service that I cant use? he replies "I dont know Miss Kerry" by this point im losing the will to live....anyhow I ask to be put through to "accounts and billing" (im stuck in a contract for 8 more months at this point) Once this guy picks up the phone I tell him that Im recording this call as Im considering going to Watchdog BBC regarding the level of service (along with a few other customers) he then is as helpful as Florence Nightingale! he was telling me to try this techincal guy once more and if he cant help they will waiver the contract fee (get out early fee of £285!) speak to an irish fella who tells me he is on it, and to call him back in 24hrs if no change he will authorise the fee to be waived and I will be free. Well within seconds my internet speed was 5meg! compared with the 300 - 400 kbps I was getting. Complaining is the only way to get anything done sadly...

Check your internet speed here: www.speedtest.net

Next was Sky, paying £58 per month for this pleasure, dont watch half of the channels and the sky plus box is freezing and generally playing up I called about this previously and was told it was out of warrenty etc etc and it would basically cost me telephone numbers to fix so this call was either they help me out or I would have it disconnected. As soon as I mentioned that I was considering going to Virgin (which I cant actually do, no cable laid here) the girl at Sky bent over backwards, helping me choose exactly what channels I wanted etc etc got my package down to £40 per month plus I have a Sky chappie coming here today, with new box/dish whichever is at fault all for NADA not a bean, or PENNY!

Yes to people power I say! Its boring and hard work but get complaining.

No More Lie In's!

So made it back today for some more musing's and other rubbish!

Have quite easily slipped into going to bed at 2am and not rousing until 11am but im making the most of it as its all back to normal come the 5th of Jan. There is clearly something to be said for routines.

Decorations already down, decided at the same time to have a deep clean in the living room boy the dust (shame) found a blast from the past my first *pricey* camera, took many a noice shots of many bands check her out!

I have decided now at 38 I need an eye test, been squinting at things far away so that makes me ummm short sighted (I have never understood all that bull). Spent some of the day sorting music out that I had meant to deal with prior to Christmas malarky but it didnt happen....some new stuff and some old that im burning from CD (a labourious job).
Rock Band will make me a RAWK star.

Watch this space for news on my special first purchase of 2009!

Trying It Out

So after a failed attempt at 365 I thought I would give blogging a spin - I dont know how it will pan out but i'll give it a go. Hope to share things I like and things I dont, loife, lurve, happiness, sadness and whatever else along the way!

I found a great new feature on my camera today, widescreen setting! thats always a bonus in loife.

Christmas has gone and New Year is here, no resolutions for me they only lead to disappointment, its an extra pressure in my loife I can do without fank oo. I guess I have some goals for this year but for now they can stay under wraps.
